DISCLAIMER: Foreigners, Philippines is a beautiful country. This is just a rant to the freakin MMDAs who are scattered around the metro but they dont even do anything to protect the motorists or make the traffic lighter. This is just one of the random things that can happen everyday. I'm sure things like these happen to your country as well. I wrote this entry because i think it's interesting, it's somewhat a near death experience and to let the MMDA know that they are not doing their jobs. If you are unsure about going to this country, you can skip Manila and go on and choose other 7100 islands in the Philippines! I can recommend you places! Email me! :)
Alright, here it goes. Last Thursday, I went to my friends office in GH to do a freelance product shoot for the magazine she works for. After the shoot, we decided to go home together. We haven't seen each other for a long time so we decided to commute going home. The traffic is just what we needed to catch up.
From her office, we took a bus going to Ortigas- San Juan Intersection. When we went out of the bus, we went to the bus stop to wait for another bus going to Makati. While waiting, i saw a bunch of kids with plastic bags that seemed to have rugby inside. They were inhaling it. I've seen these kinds of kids on tv. I got a lil bit scared but i ignored them as we passed by them. Yes, they were high from inhaling the rugby. When we were got in the bus, I noticed that the rugby boys were gating on the bus. Suddenly, one of the rugby boys threw something solid at the bus and the bus' window cracked. Scary part: there was a kid sitting right next to that window. There were a couple of MMDA officers in the area and i saw them do nothing! I wanted to get out of the bus and shout at the MMDA officers!!! I would've done that but the rugby boys were really scary.
Damn! Those MMDA officers has the nerve to stop and catch private motorists for violations but they can't even handle what happened! They can't even stop the traffic from building up.

The rainy season just started! I am in love with this bed weather! So, what better idea than to go a resort in the middle of a storm!
Last June, my family and I went to Balay Indang in Indang, Cavite while Bagyong Falcon was bangin the country. It's a sweet little resort in the middle of a forest and one of the warmest places i've been to. It's made up of small cabins, trees and the most accommodating staff ever.
(hover mouse to photos to see descriptions:)
FOOD - 3 meals a day and 2 meriendas in between. the best part is... IT'S BOTTOMLESS! You can ask for more if you run out of the variant you want. Let me disect this topic since I know a lot of you guys are foodies. So breakfast, lunch and dinner is served with rice, 3 variants, an appetizer, dessert and a pitcher of juice/Coke. Then for merienda, a plate of bottomless pancit or hot bowl of lugaw is served. This part is a surprise because you don't get to choose what you want. You eat what the other guests are having.

DESIGN/AESTHETICS - One word really came to my mind when i first saw the place... CIRCUS. It's filled with clowns, masks, mirrors and Asian design. Being in a forest like place, you see all these trees and flowers and the overall 'circus' inspired designs makes it the stay magical. Bring your cameras because there are a lot of interesting designs to document!

ROOMS - So, there are small cabins scattered all over this resort. The cabins are air-conditioned, spacious and it has this provincial feel to it. The room where i stayed in had white curtains and draperies that I believe are very relaxing.

My family and I didn't really had a lot of things to do in the resort since it was raining. We can't go to the pool cause it was already cold, we also didn't had the chance to walk around the whole place because the rain made it all muddy but that's alright! We had the chance to relax and bond inside the room. We ate a lot too! Our stomachs did not have enough time to digest because food is being served almost every 2 hours! HAHA! i think I gained a couple of pounds during our stay but it's all good!
You guys must go to this place! i give this resort 5 stars!!! Because of the food!

Really cool place for Americans to go to. if they wanna see if their ancestors are there, they can stop by and look for their grandfathers.
Voila! here are some of my shots:

Before going to MAC, i happened to pass by national bookstore and buy 2 pieces of cellophane, blue and yellow. I've been wanting to try out a filter trick for years and i finally did it! I assembled the whole thing in my car.... so technically it's car made filter? HAHA
Voila! here are some of my shots:

So, recently... Well, 2 months ago... my family and I went to Singapore. Usually, it would only be my sis, bro, mom and dad (well, he lives there.) and I. But last April, my tita decided to treat the rest of my family, selected lucky cousins, to a trip to my hometown (HAHA!)
Here they are! Walking along a road near Mustafa.
Ok, so i bought a new lens... it's a zoom lens. I bought it cause I like the blurry effect on the background. Yes, depth of field. sadly, i bought the non-automatic one, thus, it's so hard to focus it. But, it's all good at least i get to practice manual focus with it! I love taking photos of random people's faces... I have so many random photos of strangers from my last sg trip that i had to do something with it. And so, I made this movie poster:
Oquiworld Productions
HAHA. so there. a quick review...
the old couple: i saw them while having breakfast in mustafa
Guy in left: saw him in Univ. Studios
Guy in middle: he works for Sentosa
Girl: i forgot where i saw her
I must admit, doing long projects on my laptop is fun. Editing, Flash, Photoshop are things i enjoy a lot because i love creating things from scratch. So there you go. the new flash banner!

THANK YOU, Danica!
Happy birthday, Eunice:) Lemme thank my Lord for putting up with me for 22 years:) and to all my friends who greeted me... thank you!
For my birthday this year, my family and i went to ACUATICO located at Laiya, San Juan, Batanggas. The resort is not for the adventurous type. it's mainly for people who are looking for a place to relax and unwind. and for architecture geeks who appreciates modern building aesthetics. i love how the infinity pool really seemed to be connected to the ocean. Also, their rooms are delicately designed and comfortable. Then, their food. oh my. lovely buffet at a reasonable price.
i would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars just because their beachfront had white tiny pebbles and not fine sand. i am a beach person and would really prefer swimming in the beach rather than in the pool. soo, their tiny pebbles weren't that cool.

ooh! got my yearbook photo proofs today! definately graduating this year! in JESUS NAME!! AMEN!
i saw delara (used to be mojofly) tonight. brought me memories to when i wanted to have a band/ be a rockstar in highschool. sad. when i was in hs, ive always wanted a guitar in my hands. i just wanted to play the guitars everyday. i remembered there was a time when my teacher asked what i wanted to be when i grow up and what can my 'career' do for the country. i said i wanted to be a rockstar to promote good music here in the country. when we have daily devotions i would often request to be the guitarist for songs cause i didn't want to read and explain the bible. it was just easier to play the guitar.

ooh. retreat tomorrow! boo. have to do thesis:)
so, i just finished watching 'The Cove'. i heard it from 92.3 'cool to be you', a radio station here in the philippines. I heard it from the show Brewrats. and being a fan, i decided to check it out on youtube.com this morning. Oh my... that was horrible what they do with those dolphins! Man! i am never going to Taiji(where the dolphin slaughter occurs)! i say this because i still want to go to Japan and not in Taiji. I think Japan is a wonderful country and really their culture does not depend entirely on killing marine animals.
The cove summary:
a team of americans lead by rick o'barry tries to save dolphins in Taiji, Japan.
There's a cove in Taiji, Japan where they kill dolphins for these reasons: 1. it's in their culture, 2. they eat dolphins 3. their government tells fishermen that dolphins are considered pests - dolphins and other big marine animals are being blamed for eating too much fish that it contributes to the loss of fish for humans to eat. these are the 3 reasons that tops my mind right now.
for the first reason, i did some reaserch, and yes, Taiji have been killing whales before because of IWC. now, they can only kill dolphins. for the 2nd reasons, apparently, some 'expensive' fish meat in Japan's groceries are replaced with dolphin meat. also, Dolphin meat is served in the schools in Taiji. for the 3nd reason, this is what the government wants them to think. Ric o barry says that the TAiji govt lies to fishermen so that they could kill the dolphins. but in reality, humans do consume a huge amount of fish and maybe we should blame ourselves and not dolphins.
Basically, the documentary aims to stop this act of dolphin torture. the team does this by constantly trying to document the killings. at the end of the movie, they did it successfully and trespassing into blocked gates and putting up hidden cams on the cove. Also, they talked about why people shouldn't eat dolphins - apparently, dolphin meat has high mercury content and is considered toxic for humans.
Great docu. watch it!
after watching the docu i spent about 1 hours looking for other docu about animal slaughter. nothing in the site was better than the cove. so, i went on with the usual video i watch; parodies, vlogs, and make up tutorial. and then it hit me. The Michael Moore has done something like this too. only, it's not with dolphins but with humans.
Fahrenheit 9/11 by Michael moore is kind of like the cove in the sense that they also kill... humans. in F 9/11 there are scenes there that show soldiers bombing Iraq like their playing violent computer game. In the documentary, correct me if im wrong, but i remember michael talked about how the Bush lied to US there so would be a war in Iraq. now, that kind of sound like the number 3 reason why dolphins are slaughtered in The cove.
Now, i do not have anything against US and Japan but it's just, both countries have their faults. don't hate me this is just my opinion. to be fair, the philippines has also earned the most dangerous country for journalists.
point is... We should really do something about the world.
I am so inlove with leonardo di caprio. he is so hot in the movie! my goodnes.. his acting is so.. cant even find the right words. but gahdd.. i would do anything to meet him!! i've actually made a promise to myself to watch all his movies! woot!
Anyway, back to inception. This movie is so delicately done that you don't want it to end. i am a lucid dreamer and to be honest ive actually wondered what if i confuse my dreams with reality.. maybe that's one factor why i love this film so much..
to those who haven't watch it.. do yourselves a favor and watch it! im definately getting a dvd so i could watch over and over again when im old. haha!!
i don't want to ask 'why' because i know there is a reason behind all this. i will wait for time to tell me everything. for now, i'm glad to be out on Thursday til Monday so i wouldn't have to deal with this.

| I hope you get this on time, sorry I didn't inform you about my trip in United kingdom for a research program, I'm presently in Sheffield and am having some difficulties here because i misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel where my money and other valuable things were kept.I want you to assist me with a loan of ($2000) to sort-out my hotel bills and to get myself back home. I have spoken to the embassy here but they are not responding to the matter effectively,I will appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with,I'll Refund the money back to you as soon as i return, let me know if you can be of any help. I don't have a phone where i can be reached. Please let me know immediately. Regards, EO wow. that's a well written piece of shit. Where the hell is Sheffield? damn i want to check that place out someday. does it even exist?? pardon me. i haven't told you the whole story.... here it goes... earlier today, june 28 2010.. i received an email from yahoo.com that they will be deleting emails that are no longer being used. and to do this, the email said that i had to reply to them. i had a lot of things saved in my account regarding my thesis so i thought it's best to reply. the email asked for 6-7 things so ididn't hesitate to reply. it asked for my username, password and location. that's all i remember. around 10 in the evening, my dad called me up and said he received an email. yup the same message above. that's when the earlier event came back to me. man! all i was thinking was about my thesis and this happens! haha! im at fault i know. but i was just concerned about my thesis. damn. thank god i had different passwords for yahoomail, twitter, fb and gmail. (yup, cause before it was just one password for all). now, i cant access my email and yahoochat. the crazy hacker changed my password. lesson learned. do not share your password online. God bless those hackers. |
any, the movie was really nice. i cried at the end. it taught me how sometimes it's best to let go. damn.

hey hey! spent the last 5 days in the last frontier, Palawan. In puerto prinsesa to be exact! well, that was a beautiful place:D
Tuesday- my family and i left the house at around 9am and went to the new airport. yep, terminal 3. i appreciate the peace and aesthetic of terminal 3 because the old airports suck. this new one's very spacious and it looks like the one in sg. we flew through AirPhil Express. our flight was delayed but no biggie. at around 12:30pm we boarded the plane and around 2:30pm we were in Palawan.
first stop: palawan wildlife rescue and conservation center. it's where they farm/pet crocodiles. they have this really huge croc that reaches almost 7 ft high. it also houses different animals found in palawan.
second: IWAHIG. this is a prison. yes. people can go there. tourists are allowed to go inside. iwahig is a huge vast land that is allotted for the rehabilitation of prisoners all over the philippines. personally, if i ever commit a crime i would want to be imprisoned here because i think compared to the jails in the city, this one is clean and prisoners are allowed to live normally--they can't go out of iwahig though.
third: baker's hill. nothing to see here. their bread was nothing but ordinary. i didin't even get why the tour guide showed it to us. haha:D
fourth: we went to this place owned by the MITRA's. also nothin to see in here but the Hunda/Honda Bay -- which we went on our 3rd day.
Then, we went to the resort that we stayed in, Blu Sky Resort. That was a 2 hour drive from the city.
And that was it for our first day.
Wednesday
we woke up at around 5:30 am. drove for almost 4 hours to go to Sabang. this place reminds me of Puerto Galera. nice beach. we took a boat ride to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park. the tour guide said a lot about this very beautiful but i didn't really heard everything because i was in awe when i saw the rock formations and i was trying to see the different creatures that was leaving in that place. plus, i was busy protecting my cam because we were in water. The only thing that the tour guide said that kind of made smile was the fact that the filipinos weren't the first people who explored the place. it was the americans. the filipinos thought that there were evil spirits in the cave so they didn't bother to go inside. how superstitious of us.
but do not fret, you guys can check out this out for more info:
http://www.new7wonders.com/n7w/nature/finalists/puerto-princesa-underground-river/
After that we went to the city, bought dinner then went back to the resort.
Thursday
we woke up at around 7am. hit the road and went to Honda Bay. this is probably my favorite place out of all the places we've been.
Pandan Island
at around 11 am we reach this island. our tour guide prepared lunch while we went for a swim. What i like about this place is there were tropical fish all over the shore. as in just in the shoreline. no one has to go in the middle of south china sea just to the some snorkling and fish feeding. really beautiful. After lunch, another boat ride and we were in Snake Island.
Snake Island
Snake Island is named as such because of it's snake like shape. it's like Pandan Island but with bigger fish. there were really huge parrot fish, the one's in the nemo movie were also there but bigger. it's very beautiful. oh, and i think i burnt my back real badly in this island.
and off to our resort.
Friday
This was our free day. we did fishing in the resort's speed boat. that was the first time i was very scared of the water. the water wasn't that calm and there were huge waves.
at around 12 we went to this really tiny island. as in there was only sand in the middle of the sea. it was the cutest thing. it's part of the Isda Sombrero Islands. Before Ondoy, it was almost a real island, but when the huge waves hit it it became a really tiny islet.
that's about it.
Saturday
we went home. and flew with AirPhilExpress and they were late ones again!
will tell you other funny moments some other time:D
ps.. i did an avp because.. err i didn't want to sleep for the rest of the day so yes. there you go:D

it's been 3 months since i last logged in here. nothin much happened. loser. haha! the highlight would probably the PAFF 2010. Paldang Asul Film Festival. we won 3rd place out of 5 entries. i still think we should've won. haha. bittter? kidding. i dont want to argue anymore. past is past. haha:) the champion was good. i look at it this way.. someone has to lose really. it's not really how good our work is, it's just that someone has got to lose. but, im happy with what we did. no hard feelings. there would be other films, greater films to be produce. that;'s about it.
Goodnight, mike:D
here's one of the christmas parties i went to this year. this one's from the FELLAs christmas party. funny story. while we were dancing the night away, my friend hit my eye. i probably forgot to blink or something cause i felt my right contact lens roll down my cheeks. haha. after that happened, i remembered all of the things that i had to do for the vacation.
- the thesis homework-- our professor gave us a huge chunk of task for the 2 week vcay.
- my fight to singapore-- you see, 2 days before that incident, my sister and i was set to go to singapore. we'll be here for the holidays.
kind of like 'near death experience'. everything went running in my mind. now, i know how that feels.
so, i really had to look for my right contacts. good thing, it was only me and at least 5 friends that were in the dance floor. i told them to get down and look for my lens. i was so desperate thati was willing to tell management to open the lights and ask everyone to help me look for it. Thank God, i found it in a matter of seconds. whew.
moral lesson:
1. if you have bad eye sight, wear glasses in clubs.
2. find friends who will help you in time of need. haha. people probably thought we were dipping low that time.
3. if you're wearing lenses, blink every 5 seconds. you don't know whats going to hit your eye.
4. (put what you learned here)
there's so much things i want to do right now! i want to go to the beach, i want to be a dj, i want to lose weight, meet mike bailey, get one with thesis, run, gah. tutulog ko nalang muna.
i was so afraid of change that i missed out on a lot of things. hm. God, help me. random.
ok anyway, i've been watching skins. finished seasons 1 and 2 in 3 days! cool. it's a bit late but hey fuck it. haha. haha. season 3 not that bad but i hope the writers would bring back the old cast.
i wanna work on my editing skills. oooh. i got a christmas greeting thing on youtube. you better check it out! haha.
mike/sid look really good in that picture.
IT's christmas. Merry christmas.
ok. watching ae tuts in youtube finally paid off! whew. i wanted to do the whole song but it was too long. and i only had today to experiment. haha! will do something more complex on another day:D
i really have to go to church, read the bible and pray. pray pray pray.

i admit ever since college came along, i've been pretty lax with my relationship with God. and, it pisses me off when i think about all the blessings that God has been giving everyday and here i am, ungrateful. ungrateful-- like sometimes i feel that i'm thinking more about myself when it's really not about me. it's about God and his wonders and the unthinkable love that we experience everyday (which some people can't see).
last week, i had two incidents of having a hard time while looking for a parking slot at AC (my school). that was a tuesday and a monday. monday, i went to ac at around 10am. as i passed the sanlo amorsolo gates, i prayed to God that He may give a nice and easy slot to park on. when i arrived in the assumption parking, as expected, it was full. but, i prayed again. i waited for around 10 minutes. i didn't really have any classes that time so i was willing to wait. then, God answered my prayers! there were a bunch of drivers who helped me. and voila! parallel parking is getting easier for me:D haha!
on tues day, i arrived at ac around 8:45 am. i again prayed to God. this time i did have class so it was important for me to find a slot quickly. around 8:50 there were no drivers trying to help. no one was coming out of the parking. i entered the inner parking 3 times but the guard didn't let me because i didn't have an ac sticker even though they did have a handful of free slots. so i again prayed and decided to just chill and patience IS a virtue i told myself. just as i was losing hope, a lady guard told me that i can park at this certain spot after this bus goes. and voila! i got to school at 9 just on time for my class:D
and this is the time where i tell everyone that God never leaves us:D he let's us trust HIM! and the best part is HE will never fail us! Thank you Lord!

this week is pretty awesome. i just got home from a 6 day trip in singapore. you see, i only have 3 subjects meaning i have all the time in the world to do what i want. also, it's both my mom and dad's birthday this August so it was just right to spend time with them. it was, like any other trip, tiring. but it was all worth it because Dad got me a Macbook! hurrah!
This wednesday, we had a guest speaker for my broadcast production class. the speaker was the cutest thing in the face of the planet. his name is Mikey Del Rosario. i don't care if you see this when you google your name. yes, i think you're hot! and i hope to bump into you in the future. haha! he's the director of this travel show in ANC called "Asian Air Safari".
Then later that night, my corpcomm groupmates and i went to Margz's house to do our project. we stayed there until the morning. it was fun:))
i feel so weak. hay.
happy birthday, Mama!

i have so many things in mind right now and i want to write it all. so hear me people.
ok, recent event in the country: Cory Aquino just died.
a little background: wife of the late Ninoy Aquino, elected president the 1986(not sure about this) snap elections, loves the color yellow, mother to the ever contoversial Kris Aquino.
ok so here's the thing, i am just really overwhelmed by the people's support in this lady. honestly, she wasn't really that intensely taught/discussed in my previous history classes that's why i don't really know her and what she did. thus, i don't get why a lot of people took their time to follow her in her body's final resting place. maybe she did something tremendous. ..this just proves how ignorant i am when it comes to my country's history. haha! let me rephrase that, i'm more interested with the history from ancient Philippines to Jose Rizal. From Emilio Aguinaldo onwards... i find it already boring. there.

i thought it was funny how a lot of people got into SLEX. it's a once in a lifetime scene to actually see that many people scattered in the highway. it was kind of like a reenactment of what happened in the 80s. i kind of felt bad that i didn't took any pictures. boo hoo.
i still have a lot of things to do tomorrow!! Lord, i pray that you help me with everything. Amen.
believe it or not, but im actually getting the hang of riding the public bus. reminds of how we commute in singapore. Philippine public transportation is actually not that bad. if you just know the ropes then you'll be just fine. if you know when to live, the areas that are prone to traffic and where to actually ride then you'll survive. but, it also helps to be clean. it makes the commuting all worth while:D
gnyt.:D
Thanks, tats and ciar for accepting my invitation to do a quick photoshoot! well done. i love all the pics!
i just want to say that i like you. yes you. i hope you find this letter. i don't know if you check random blogs but yes... im sending this one out in the world wide web just for you. mwa.

this is certainly a wake up call.

i was watching the latest season of America's Next Top Model and heard this thing called "female circumcision. i've heard about this before but never really knew its process, how it is done. and since, we have a really reliable, super fast, incredible internet connection, i didn't hesitate to research about it.
And now, im so devastated! argh. i feel so lucky to live in this time and place. far from ancient cultures. Lord! Thank yhou beacause you placed me here. a place where i can be what i want. a place that outgrew old practice and customs. Thank you!
Let's pray for those women who had and who are next in line for cirumcision.
Lord, i lift them up to you. i pray that you take their agonies away.
Amen!:)

what do you think?? i worked on this for about 4 days-- this includes brainstorming and manual labor already. so dont tell me i work slow! haha! anywho, i love it!
haha! i just had to blog about this.
you know how sometimes, we want to say something but it totally comes out wrong. we accidentally say things that we do not mean. sometimes, we love to candy coat our words too much that we kind of lost the thought of what were trying to say. and the audience, the ones were talking to, will be lost and will have a wierd grin on their face as they decipher what we really want to say.
good communication skills is indeed vital to every man.
i'm not talking about an embarassing moment of me rather this is about Coach William. the new head of the Athletics Department of my school. i dont know if i have mentioned this in my previous entries but our swim coach has been layed off. the department is still looking for a new coach. in the mean time, they gave us to the hands of Coach Rupert-- we wont be swimming just yet, rather we'll do strengthening and endurance work out first.
So, this afternoon, Coach William introduced us to Coach Rupert.
The Story:
Coach William wanted to say that with Coach Rupert, we dont have to be scared of not training in water yet because he will improve out endurance and our strength. but, Coach William said in a very unexpected way, no body saw it coming, he said, "no one has to sleep with him". and then he explained what he really wanted to say.
This is the funniest thing i heard today. hahaha! and the funniest thing i saw was red castro.
Good night:D

God has own ways of doing things. he has his own way of teaching us what life is really all about. And life is all about Him. To glofriy him, to live for him and to love Him. and that means casting all your cares and anxieties to Him. trust Him with all your heart. To open your eyes with gladness in the darkest part of your life.
Job 42:2-3
2 "I know that you can do all things;
no plan of yours can be thwarted.
3 You asked, 'Who is this that obscures my counsel without knowledge?'
3 You asked, 'Who is this that obscures my counsel without knowledge?'
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know.
